McGill Restoration is now seeking a traveling Industrial Painter to join our Team! This person must be based out of Omaha or Lincoln, NE. The Industrial Painter is responsible for performing general laborer tasks on job sites, as well as tasks like applying protective coatings or decorative finishes to industrial structures, such as buildings, grain bins, and tanks. They may operate hand and power tools of all types including air hammers, airbrushes, grinders, cutting tools, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, and a wide variety of other equipment and instruments. Some of the job responsibilities include:
- Clean and prepare surfaces
- Prepare paints for application
- Apply paints using a variety of tools such as airbrushes, stencils, rollers or brushes
- Maintain equipment and ensure safety standards are being met, including wearing the proper PPE
- Perform manual work functions associated with specific jobs
- Clean work area after completing a job and carefully follow all guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 2+ years of Industrial Painting/Sandblasting or other similar experience, preferred
- 1+ years of commercial construction experience, preferred
- Ability to travel frequently (80-90% of the time)
- Valid driver's license; CDL Class A or Class B Driver's license, preferred
- Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment
- Ability to differentiate between colors
- High accuracy in work, attention to detail
- Demonstrated problem solving and people skills
- Ability to work with all levels of employees
- Ability to work on multiple priorities with frequent interruptions
- Reliability and thirst for learning
- Strong communication skills
- Experience mixing colors, preferred
- Experience wet painting using a gun, preferred
- Industry Training & Certification, preferred
