CAD Drafting Technician

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and revise 2D and 3D construction drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop site plans, bridge layouts, utility details, erosion control plans, temporary works, and construction staging diagrams.
- Assist estimators and engineers in quantity takeoffs, plan interpretation, and means-and-methods drawings.
- Produce as-built drawings, logistics plans, and visual aids to support proposals and project execution.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date CAD files, templates, and drawing standards.
- Conduct occasional site visits to gather field data and verify dimensions.
- Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure drawing accuracy and real-world constructability.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D and/or MicroStation experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of civil and structural construction drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret DOT standards, plans, and specifications.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in civil or heavy highway construction drafting.
- Experience with structural steel detailing is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with bridge construction, shoring, or temporary support designs.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools such as Revit or Navisworks.
Compensation:
Competitive wage commensurate with experience. Excellent benefit package including company paid health, dental and vision insurance with a company-funded retirement plan.
Salary Range $55,000 - $75,000
Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
