What does this role look like?

As a Staff Project Engineer , you will:

Serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) for the FBM Avionics Directorate in the planning and execution of Avionics work scope
Ensure that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures, schedules, and work plans
Coordinate the planning, organizing, control, Integration, and completion of Engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility
Ensure Engineering is coordinated across Program and suppliers

This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office. To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college
7+ years of professional experience
Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead experience
You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance , to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Please note:

No clearance is required to apply nor prior to start. To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

9+ years of professional experience;
Masters Degree
Prior FBM experience
Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering
Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very sophisticated problems and implement constructive change
Demonstrated ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope
Experience using JIRA or Version 1 or similar tools for project planning and tracking
Experience throughout the engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test, and operational deployment)
Experience in Business Rhythm creation and management experience
Excellent presentation abilities
Excellent organizational skills
