Pay Range: $26.71 to $40.06

Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidates qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworkers gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.

Kwik Trip’s Maintenance Department is looking for a self-motivated Ammonia Refrigeration Technician II.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, Maintain, and repair Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Systems
  • Execute system pump downs or isolations to facilitate opening, rebuilding, replacement, and repairs as needed.
  • Conduct and analyze routine daily tasks such as equipment evaluations for proper operating parameters.
  • Troubleshooting and assisting production departments with maintenance issues, and emergency cooling issues; both ammonia and HVAC.
  • Teach / mentor other Technicians in advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Complete PSM compliance paperwork
  • Follow blueprints and diagrams to diagnose and complete repairs.
  • Read and comprehend code, regulations, manuals, and procedures.

Job Qualifications : Successful candidates should have a minimum of five years’ experience operating and/or servicing industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.

  • Knowledge of ammonia systems with CARO and CIRO certification, or equivalent certifications with the ability to obtain CARO/CIRO.
  • Knowledge of electricity, electrical motors, controls, and wiring to perform trouble shooting and repair duties.
  • Skills in basic welding to perform equipment repairs.
  • Skill to read and understand electrical, building, PID, and system/equipment blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Ability to ensure all maintenance is completed to the required specifications and codes or regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers at all levels to communicate project scope and requirements.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and applicable codes or regulations.
  • Knowledge of Maximo and Microsoft Office Programs.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Physical qualifications : stand up to 8 hours; lift-up to 100 pounds; bend, reach, and twist frequently; work in a variety of weather temperatures/conditions.

Work schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime hours. Weekend and overtime work may be required, as well as some on call responsibilities.
