Overview

Plan, implement, and coordinate safety programs company-wide, requiring application of engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions. Administer workers compensation benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update and maintain plant safety programs in accordance with OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current OSHA regulations and relevant state workers compensation laws.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
  • Ensure accurate overall recordkeeping of safety and workers compensation for legal and inspection purposes.
  • Administer workers compensation claims from opening to closure.
  • Recommend safety enhancements that will reduce employees' exposure to work hazards.
  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
  • Report or review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing.
  • Administer company safety incentive program.
  • Create annual safety training program and track progress to ensure all plants are OSHA compliant.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent experience required. OSHA training/certification preferred.
  • Three to five years previous work-related experience.
  • Minimal overnight travel required.
  • Computer skills required; Outlook email, Word, Excel.
