Project Coordinator

Position Summary

The Project Coordinator will be expected to lead and deliver critical maintenance and upgrade projects across the facility. The position will require combined engineering expertise with strong project management skills to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safety compliance from project inception through completion. This position will be required to coordinate multidisciplinary teamsincluding maintenance technicians, contractors, and vendorsto plan, execute, and close projects on time and within budget. The position will be expected to help assess technical requirements, troubleshoot complex systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and cut costs.

Position Responsibilities - Essential

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for maintenance and capital improvement initiatives

  • Lead cross-functional teams through project phases: scope definition, design review, procurement, execution, and handover

  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track

  • Conduct technical reviews, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and perform post-project evaluations

  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and finance to align maintenance priorities with business objectives

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, status reports, and cost tracking in CMMS and project management tools

  • Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities

  • Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a safety-sensitive position

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Associate degree

  • Five years of project management experience in industrial maintenance or plant engineering

  • Proven ability to manage budgets more than $500K and deliver projects on schedule

  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems in a manufacturing environment

  • Proficiency with CMMS software, Microsoft Project (or equivalent), and risk-management methodologies

  • Excellent communication skills and a track record of leading multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)

  • Greater than five years of project management experience in industrial maintenance or plant engineering

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or demonstrated experience in continuous improvement methodologies

  • Experience with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and root-cause failure analysis (RCFA)

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA, ISO)

  • Microsoft Project experience, preferred
