Airswift is looking for a Marine Field Construction Engineer to work with one of our major clients in Port Arthur, TX. The Marine Field Construction Engineer is responsible for overseeing field construction activities related to the marine scope within an LNG company project. Provide, monitor and report oversight of the day-to-day marine aspects with particular attention to performance and HSSE requirements. Marine scope covers a wide range of infrastructure activities such as pile driving, dredging, shore protection, sheet pile, combi wall, soil improvement with a high soil-structure interactions and geotechnical interfaces. Superstructure activities will cover mechanical equipment installation such as loading arms, quick release hooks, fire tower, gangways, control buildings etc. The Marine Field Construction Engineer is responsible for the construction management of the project marine scope of work, monitoring/providing feedback on the EPC contractor's day-to-day construction activities, ensuring workflow with site permits and ensuring that the project is constructed in accordance with all applicable permits and codes/standards/Specification. Duties and Responsibilities Field Engineering: Works with Area Manager, Project engineering and HSSE teams to address safe design constructability to ensure the agreed sequential work is installed in a cost-effective manner. Participates in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and ensures documented safety walkdowns, meetings and trainings. Oversees and manages contractor(s) construction activities to ensure compliance with the EPC contract, applicable permits, site regulations, quality, and construction safety program. Assists with the receipt, tours and presentations for site visitors both internal and external. Supervises field operations across various areas. Monitors and supports owner-controlled insurance programs as applicable. Office Engineering: Interprets and understands drawings, specifications, design reports and other technical deliverables. Reviews, monitors and tracks construction schedule and progress and ensures overall project schedule compliance. Reviews and recommends resolutions regarding contractual disputes between owner and contractor. Provides input to project daily, weekly and monthly construction progress reports. Participates in regular contractor construction meetings. Assists as required to ensure that project documentation including turnover packages, as builts, redlines etc. are completed properly. Reviews and comments on EPC contractor's marine documents and drawings in Aconex. Education Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience (civil/marine/structural/geotechnical/dredging) required. Requirements 5-10 years of experience in supervising field construction projects such as marine/dredging/pile driving/shoreline protection activities required. 5-10 years of knowledge in geotechnical engineering, deep foundation, retaining structures, marine quay walls, marine engineering required. 5-10 years of knowledge in material engineering such as concrete, steel, piping, welding, coating, cathodic protection Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Previous experience delivering marine facilities, and leading teams of Field Engineers, either as a Lead Discipline Field Engineer, Area Field Engineer, Project Field Engineer or equivalent. Possess knowledge and understanding of environmental requirements, construction practices/techniques, construction contracting, labor contracts and rules, and project controls and scheduling. Strong knowledge of engineering and construction standards, materials, and companies/vendors processes. Familiar with the regulatory bodies FERC, USACE, USCG, PIANC, ASCE, ACI, ASTM, AWI etc. and their guidance as related to the marine aspects of the project. Experience in monitoring contractor's QA/QC performance. Detailed knowledge of environmental and safety matters as they relate to the energy industry. Demonstrated project management skills. Team player with demonstrated ability to work with Contractor counterpart. Proficient computer skills including project management, spreadsheets, database, word processing, and presentation software. Ability to manage scheduled field work and build relationship with contractor counterparts. Driver's License required. Pass necessary safety training tests at site required.
