Assistant Project Manager Job Description We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our project management team, focusing on preconstruction, estimating, and project purchasing activities. The ideal candidate will write scopes of work by evaluating contracting needs for purchasing and subcontracting functions, utilizing existing supplier networks while promoting greater networks. This role requires someone with the ability to perform assignments with polite persistence and a sense of urgency. The candidate should develop detailed scopes of work from conceptual information, requiring initiative-based investigation from limited sources. Strong organizational and computer skills are essential. Responsibilities Assist in preconstruction, estimating, and project purchasing activities. Write scopes of work by evaluating contracting needs for purchasing and subcontracting functions. Develop detailed scopes of work from conceptual information. Perform assignments with polite persistence and a sense of urgency. Collaborate with existing supplier networks and promote greater networks. Essential Skills Project management experience. Preconstruction and estimation expertise. Mechanical and construction knowledge. Proficiency in change orders, RFIs, and project engineering. Submittals and bidding experience. Minimum of 3 years experience in an APM, project engineer, or junior PM role. Subcontractor and construction management experience. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Proficiency in SharePoint and Microsoft Excel. Additional Skills & Qualifications BA/BS degree in engineering or construction management preferred. On-site experience in mechanical construction is a plus. Experience working for a mechanical contractor, including estimating, bidding, and procurement of materials and subcontractors. Familiarity with software estimating programs. Experience with Procore or similar estimating software is helpful. Experience in MEP commercial construction is advantageous. Work Environment The work environment includes normal working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with potential variations depending on project needs. The role involves both in-office and on-site work.
