Who are we looking for?

The US West Region is looking for a motivated Entry Level Civil Engineer Highways & Roads to join our growing team in San Luis Obispo, CA. We are seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer with the skills to assist in the delivery of highways, interchanges, local roads, roundabouts, trails / active transportation, bridges, and other enriching and vital improvements. This position will be based out of San Luis Obispo, CA office, but will be networked through our offices across the West Region with a focus on our offices in California.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Perform engineering design tasks for roadway and transportation projects from preliminary to final design
• Design tasks include geometric layouts, alignments, profiles, and typical cross-sections.
• Assist in cost estimates, reports, and technical memos
• Assist in transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies and general traffic engineering projects
• Collect, compile and analyze data including traffic, highway, and crash histories
• Assist in operational analysis for intersections, corridors, and interchange traffic

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering
• Possession of an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certificate
• 1-2 years of related experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to learn on the job and apply theory in a practical setting
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Able to take direction and learn
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently
• Organized and able to meet deadlines
• Flexible and adaptable to changing situations and deadlines

Salary Range: $70,000-$95,000 based on experience.
