Job Description
JOB Title: Cable Technician (Data Center)
Location: Rockland, Orange, Westchester, Putnam, Ulster, Sullivan, Dutchess Counties NY
Assignment Type: Direct-Start
Duration: 3 4 Weeks (Potential for Extension)
ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are hiring Cable Technicians to support a high-profile AI data center deployment. Technicians will assist in running, dressing, and managing fiber optic cables within a live data center environment.
This is a short-term, full-time opportunity with two available shifts. Compensation includes travel and lunch, for a total of 8 paid hours per day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Run and route fiber optic cable (overhead and underfloor)
- Dress and Velcro cables to industry standards
- Work with existing infrastructure racks, trays, patch panels
- Assist with basic rack and stack work (if needed)
- Maintain clean and organized cabling throughout install
- Follow safety and ESD compliance at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 2 years of experience with data cabling or junior PC tech work
- Familiarity with fiber cabling, cable management, and rack installs
- Must be comfortable working in data center environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work on ladders if needed
- Reliable transportation (multiple county sites possible)
- Punctual, team-oriented, and detail-focused
SHIFTS & PAY STRUCTURE:
Each technician works 6 active hours, plus:
- 1 hour paid lunch
- 1 hour paid travel time
- Total Paid Hours/Day: 8
Shift 1: 7:00 AM 1:00 PM
Shift 2: 1:00 PM 7:00 PM
