WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Project Manager to join our Power & Energy team in Houston, TX. Additional WSP USA office to be considered including Baltimore, MD. The qualified candidate may serve as project manager on a single large project or several smaller projects concurrently. This position requires discretion and independent judgment in the execution of projects.

Your Impact

  • Project Proposal and budget development
  • Managing large budget Generation Projects for multiple disciplines
  • Responsible for the execution, coordination, schedule, and maintaining integrity of assigned projects, including compliance with contractual requirements, as well as acceptable engineering/design practices and quality control
  • Responsible for maintaining corporate and generation division quality procedures
  • Must be able to organize and manage projects to meet or exceed the scheduled time frame, budget, and other related goals
  • Will regularly interact with clients, so must be able to communicate effectively and resolve technical and commercial project issues
  • The candidate will be responsible for business development, developing proposals, and making presentations
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
  • Projects may be domestic or international so some travel may be required

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 12+ years of related work experience
  • Experience in the EPC industry with a focus on power plant design work
  • Experience in a wide range of power plant technologies is valued including biomass, municipal waste, geothermal, hydrogen production and applications, carbon capture, BESS, hydro, wind, solar, gas-fired and/or coal - subject matter expertise is less important than the ability to lead and manage complex projects
  • Good understanding of commercial terms and conditions and ability to negotiate the same
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and team player
  • Proven ability to estimate, scope, schedule, and budget projects and keep projects on track in all these areas post-award
  • Commitment to high-quality work and maintaining the professional reputation and client relationships that bring repeat business
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

  • Professional Licensed Engineer
