Project Designer/ Intermediate Architectural Designer III NAVA is seeking a talented Architectural Designer with 6-8 years of experience to join our multidisciplinary studio. This role requires strong design ability, technical expertise in Revit, and experience delivering residential and mixed-use projects. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and passionate about creating sustainable and equitable architecture.
Candidates for these positions should have the following general qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture with 6-8 years of experience in an architectural office; NYC preferred experience.
Advanced Proficiency in Revit (5+ years of recent practice) with project examples through Construction Documentation.
Serve as BIM lead; manage Revit models and drawing standards with oversight from NAVA's leadership.
Lead design and documentation from concept through construction with oversight from NAVA's Studio Director and Principal.
Robust Construction Administration experience preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe CS (including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign), Rhino, Enscape
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to prepare presentation materials, as well as maintaining a professional demeanor with vendors.
Be a self-motivated, proactive and energetic team member with the ability to meet project timelines and actively add to the design conversation.
Preferred Experience:
Progress toward licensure preferred.
Experience in adaptive reuse, Passive House, or community-engaged design.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate past experience performing the following tasks:
Construction Documentation in Revit is a must.
Production of design presentations including production of design presentations including strong visual & graphics ability, bringing concepts to 2D & 3D representation for client review.
Strong knowledge of architectural methodologies
Production of material, plumbing, appliance and furniture specifications to be integrated into architectural sets for construction and purchasing.
Track project tasks for multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced design environment
Participation and focus in client meetings, project schedules, interiors budgets and all deliverables throughout project phases
You must be available to work in New York City immediately at our union Square office, Monday -Thursday, with remote work Fridays.
