Sheet Metal Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Commercial Sheet Metal Mechanic specializing in ductwork. This role involves the fabrication, installation, insulation, blueprint reading, and maintenance of duct systems in commercial buildings. Responsibilities Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal sheets to fabricate duct components using tools such as shears, press brakes, and welding equipment. Install ductwork in commercial buildings, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening through methods like welding, riveting, and bolting. Wrap and line ductwork with insulation materials to enhance energy efficiency and reduce noise. Interpret mechanical blueprints and specifications to accurately plan and layout duct systems. Inspect ductwork for accuracy and functionality, making necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure optimal performance. Essential Skills Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication and installation. Experience with ductwork and HVAC systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Skilled in using hand and power tools.
