Agricultural Equipment Operator
Location: McGregor, TX
: Drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities such as tilling, planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops; feeding livestock. May perform tasks such as crop baling, silage chopping, and grain threshing.
Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery.
Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, silage choppers, baggers, semi-trucks and trailers.
Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery.
Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks.
Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or headers to tractors.
Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers.
Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information.
Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers.
Position boxes or attach bags at discharge ends of machinery to catch products, removing and closing full containers.
Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery.
Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions.
Communicate effectively with managers, peers, customers, mechanics, and parts representatives.
Manage and organize parts on hand to diagnose and make repairs in the field.
Troubleshooting equipment errors
Safely load and haul oversize equipment to job sites.
Job Requirements:
24 months farm experience with advanced mechanical skills
Possess a Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License and be a be able to pass a DOT physical, drug test, etc.
Silage Pile Safety Certification
No minimum education
May require 1-hour travel daily to harvest locations.
