Building Maintenance Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction of the Director of Public Works, management position that is responsible for City buildings and facilities maintenance operations; performs related work as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Administers, inspects, maintains contact with, and/or oversees service contracts(ors), construction projects, facilities, properties, and equipment.
• Manages assigned City Building and Facilities Maintenance operations.
• Assigns and oversees work of Building Maintenance Tech staff.
• Develops written cost estimates, prepares specifications, and administers contracts related to building and facilities maintenance.
• As authorized, chairs, serves on, and/or represents City on various department, city, and public committees.
• Communicates with appropriate agencies as needed.
• Evaluates division operations and recommends necessary changes to the Director of Public Works.
• Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of long ranges plans, annual objectives, and department budget
• Addresses public issues, complaints, and requests.
• Prepares reports, documentation, and presentations as required.
• Receives complaints and attends to their disposition or forwards to the Public Works Director
• Carries out special projects on behalf of the Director of Public Works.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess and maintain valid driver and valid Commercial Driver's License. Working knowledge of job related technology (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets and work order software, etc.)

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Two years related work experience desired.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Graduate or equivalent.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is performed indoors and outdoors regardless of the weather; exposed to machinery and its moving parts.
