Job Title: Drafter
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Drafter/Jr Designer to join our Richmond EGIS (Electrical Grid Infrastructure) teams. You will support various substation and transmission-related projects, primarily focusing on drafting for our end client. You will be responsible for handling basic drafting duties related to these projects, including creating drawings for transmission line and substation projects.
Responsibilities
- Attend team and project meetings to discuss project requirements.
- Work independently on electrical, structural, and civil drafting concepts.
- Layout construction documents according to design principles.
- Train with senior designers and engineers to enhance skills.
- Submit work for quality review and make necessary corrections.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding project needs and responsibilities.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Microstation or AutoCAD software is required.
- Ability to commute to the Glen Allen VA office location for in-office collaboration.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's degree is required.
- Experience in transmission line design and substation design is desirable.
- Familiarity with construction documentation and blueprint creation.
- Ambition and work ethic to grow into tenured design roles and beyond.
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid schedule with remote flexibility. You will work remotely on Mondays and Fridays, while Tuesdays and Thursdays will be in-office days. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $28.00/hr.
