Construction Project Engineer Professional

A Construction Project Engineer Professional is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota area. This role will serve as an onsite Project Engineer managing construction engineering tasks, quality assurance, and contract modifications at Ellsworth AFB, ensuring compliance with design and regulatory standards.

responsibilities:

• Act as Project Engineer for contracts handled by the Resident Office.
  
  
• Independently manage routine tasks; escalate complex issues.
  
  
• Engage in all contract modification phases.
  
  
• Communicate with customers, partners, and project managers about progress and issues.
  
  
• Organize and participate in pre-work, coordination, and safety meetings.
  
  
• Review and understand project plans and specifications.
  
  
• Recommend changes and contribute lessons learned to design teams.
  
  
• Prepare scopes of work, government estimates, and evaluate contractor proposals.
  
  
• Develop and implement Quality Assurance Plans per regulations.
  
  
• Support QA Representatives in monitoring quality, safety, and coordination.
  
  
• Monitor and report project progress and potential delays using RMS.
  
  
• Review contractor documents including schedules, safety/quality programs, and shop drawings.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline.
  
  
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction engineering.
