About the Role: We're looking for an experienced and detail-driven Construction Accountant to join our team. This position is key to keeping our projects running smoothly-from managing job costs and payroll to ensuring accurate financial reporting. What You'll Do: Project Budgeting & Cost Control Partner with project teams to set up budgets and cost codes Track job costs and support accurate forecasting Help estimate and monitor project cash flow Analyze financial data to keep projects on track and on budget Payroll Management Process weekly payroll, including updates for pay rates, deductions, and accruals Handle certified payroll reporting and ensure regulatory compliance Administer benefits: onboarding, updates, terminations, and reporting Process manual checks and manage workers' compensation reporting Experience with multi-state payroll is a strong plus Software Tools Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word Familiar with payroll platforms (ADP preferred) Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., PCMX or similar) Month-End & Financial Reporting Support monthly close processes and assist with tax reporting Maintain and reconcile depreciation and loan schedules Perform monthly bank reconciliations Accounts Payable / Receivable & Compliance Manage vendor invoices, customer payments, and billing (T&M and progress billing) Set up and maintain vendor/customer accounts Match invoices and subcontracts with purchase orders Track W9s, subcontractor insurance certificates, and lien waivers Assist with insurance renewals and vendor credit applications Reconcile accounts, including corporate credit cards What You Bring: 3+ years of construction accounting experience 2+ years of payroll processing experience Solid understanding of construction billing, compliance, and job costing Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Self-starter who works well independently and collaboratively Familiarity with licensing requirements across multiple jurisdictions is a bonus Why Join Us: Be part of a close-knit team in a growing company Work on exciting and diverse construction projects Gain exposure to multiple areas of accounting and operations PAY DOE $30 to $34 All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
