Working Title-** Construction Project Supervisor**Classification-** Construction Project Coordinator 4**Job Status-** Full-Time/Permanent**WDFW Program-** Capital and Asset Management Program -- Construction Division**Duty Station-** Lacey, Washington -- Thurston CountyLearn more about being a member of [**Team WDFW**]("nofollow"}!**Embrace this role** to serve the Department and Capital Asset Management Team in delivering technical and professional engineering, construction and maintenance to sustain facilities, infrastructure and ecosystems under the Department's care.**Picture yourself** being a key player in the delivery of capital construction and maintenance work for the agency.**In this dynamic role,** you will manage all teams of construction professionals within the Lacey and Yakima Construction Shops, whose mission is to support the construction and maintenance of agency assets state-wide.**You are excited to** manage projects such as construction and maintenance of fish hatchery assets including buildings, raceways, water intakes, and incubation; and development and maintenance of constituent access points such as viewing platforms, water access sites, and wildlife area access roadways. **WHAT TO EXPECT**Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, this position will:**Project Management.**- Directs and monitors the activities necessary for successful completion of maintenance and construction projects ranging from the construction of office buildings to habitat restoration, hatchery and wildlife projects, ensuring appropriate means and methods are being implemented.- Develop and monitor spending plans and estimates for capital and maintenance activities.- Monitors budgets and reviews reports to ensure maintenance and construction activities remain on target.- Provide supervision, guidance and assist project managers and construction supervisors in the scoping projects, development of cost estimates and spending plans.- Reviews engineered designs and directs the review of conceptual and final drawings to provide construction expertise to mitigate issues of functionality or feasibility. Ensuring that issues or conflicts that would require adjustments or exemptions to ordinary construction practices and identified and communicated.**Supervision and Mentoring.**- Supervises and mentors technical and professional level staff at the Lacey and Yakima Shops to support an effective, motivated team. Manages all trades including, metal fabrication, carpentry, mechanical, earthworks, electrical, control systems, fish transport, and preventative maintenance.- Sets goals and objectives, develops strategies to implement, and develops performance measurements and standards for the purpose of ensuring individual and program performance objectives are met.- Manages personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc. in a positive manner for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.- Responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of its people and other resources within the unit.**Shop Management.**Develops the budget for and directs the management of CAMPs fleet assets.
