Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Affordable Housing & LIHTC Sector Location - Greater Los Angeles Area (To be considered for this position, you MUST have recent Affordable Housing/LIHTC experience and you MUST be able to commute to the office in the greater LA area multiple times every week.) After another record growth year, our client is seeking a proven investor relations professional to expand their new investor tax credit partnerships and raise LIHTC equity dollars to be placed in proprietary and multi-investor fund executions. Our Client Consistently an NMHC Top-10 Nationally Ranked Syndicator Multifaceted Affordable Housing & LIHTC Syndicator with decades of experience Offices in more than 15 cities and partnerships with 350+ Developers across the U.S. 95+ institutional investment funds to support the healthy growth of capital and communities Tax Credit Syndication of more than 85,000 units across a $15B+ portfolio More than 10,000+ units acquired developed, and rehabilitated Presence in nearly all 50 states Impressive, well-capitalized, stable, and growing organization with an excellent reputation The Opportunity The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for establishing the company's overall financial strategies to achieve its goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in the LIHTC syndication and/or development sector, with a strong background in finance and accounting, capital markets, and real estate finance in general. This individual will play a critical role in driving financial performance while ensuring financial controls and supporting the company's strategic growth objectives. Key Responsibilities: Financial Strategy and Leadership Develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with the company's mission and goals. Identify opportunities to work across the three lines of business to lower the cost of capital and enhance the company's investment products and development services. Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on thoughtful financial analysis and projections. Lead and manage the finance and accounting teams to ensure efficient and effective financial operations and controls. Capital Markets and Real Estate Finance Oversee and manage finance needs for the company, including lines of credit, warehouse lines and other instruments needed to support the company's growth and expansion. Maintain strong relationships with the capital market players, including investors, lenders, and financial institutions to secure the necessary financial products with favorable financing terms, while leveraging equity commitments in the company's investment offerings. Provide advice as needed on investment fund structuring and other financial transactions involving acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing. Financial and Tax Planning and Analysis Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure accurate and timely financial performance and reporting. Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making and investment opportunities. Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, taxes, and financial risk to ensure the company's financial stability. Provide ongoing tax planning and reporting in conjunction with the owners outside tax accountants and advisors. Financial Reporting and Compliance Ensure accurate and timely preparation of corporate and partnership financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. Oversee internal and external audits and ensure compliance with all financial and tax regulations and filing requirements. Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and liquidity. Human Resources Oversee the HR department to align compensation strategies with overall business goals and ensure policies comply with legal regulations and support company objectives. Oversee the design and implementation of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Work with HR to develop strategies for attracting and retaining top talent, ensuring alignment with financial objectives. Partner with HR and department leaders to forecast workforce needs and manage headcount budgets. Conduct or oversee market analysis to ensure competitive salary structures including executive compensation packages with base salary, bonuses, deferred compensation, GP promote interests and other incentives. Participate in succession planning efforts to ensure leadership continuity.
