Astro Machine Works is a growing 100% Employee Owned Company located in Ephrata, PA . Founded in 1984, we are a comprehensive machining and fabrication facility specializing in custom machine building, machined parts and fabrication.

We are seeking a full-time experienced Welder to build/fabricate customer specified weldments of various shapes and sizes per customer drawings/specifications. Responsibilities including planning, layout, assembly, welding, and inspection.

SKILLS NEEDED

Critical Thinking

Mechanical Aptitude

Ability to use hand tools

Ability to read blue prints

Ability to use measuring tools

Ability to perform shop mathematics

Ability to stand for 8 hours

Ability to lift to 60 lbs.

-Must be able to pass welding certifications and be proficient in GTAW, GMAW & FCAW, welding steel, stainless steel, and aluminum

-Must have experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, or specifications

-Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form

-Must work in a safe manner following safety procedures

-Must maintain a clean welding environment

- Ability to safely run a forklift as well as operate overhead cranes

EXPERIENCE

-High School diploma or equivalent

2 years welding experience and/or equivalent training and education
