Capital Paving & Construction (CPC) – Rocky Mountain Region is a heavy highway and civil construction company in Colorado. We are in search of a lead pipe/utility mainline excavator operator for projects along the Front Range and throughout Colorado.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Looking for a production-oriented lead excavator operator for utility crew. Will run the mainline excavator (Cat 352/John Deere 350G) performing sloped, benched or trench box excavations for the installation of storm sewer and underground utilities.
  • Will be required to hold accurate grades, dig around utilities and work with ground crews while operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Routine maintenance on the equipment, to include keeping equipment greased, cleaned and operable.
  • Communicate with foreman and coworkers to the daily job specifications.
  • Perform general labor duties when necessary and work with labor crew when not operating equipment.
  • Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
  • Work in a variety of positions throughout the day including standing, stooping, bending at the waist, at waist level, shoulder height and above the head.
Requirements
    • 2+ Years of previous utility excavator operating experience.
    • Experienced with trench and excavation safety, underground utility construction, hoisting & rigging safety and knowledge of construction stakes for alignment and grade is a must.
    • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel with some overnights possible.
    • Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions including hot and cold temperatures and humidity.
    • Ability to properly follow company policies and OSHA/MSHA requirements for safe working procedures and environments.
    • Willingness to undergo a background check, physical, drug, and alcohol testing.
