The Locomotive Service Project manager is responsible for partnering with customers to plan, track and implement fleet reliability improvement plan projects and initiatives. This role ensures the successful execution of fleet modifications, fleetwide campaigns, audits, and inspections while collaborating cross functionally to rive operational excellence and reliability. This role is ideal for someone who excels at leading projects, driving fleet reliability improvements, and collaborating with customers and internal teams to enhance operational performance.

Key Job Elements

• Partner with customers to ensure major fleet projects are successfully implemented, such as overhauls, modernizations, modification programs, or other initiatives;
• Work closely with customers to implement fleet reliability improvement projects, including on-site trial inspections or test installations;
• Lead the implementation of fleetwide projects, tracking progress and ensure timely execution;
• Identify potential project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies;
• Coordinate cross functionally with both internal and customer teams to execute fleetwide campaigns such as component audits, targeted inspections, modifications
• Serve as the accounts leader for project planning and execution;
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, field service, supply chain, and quality teams to align project goals and execution;
• Provide regular project updates and performance insights to both internal and external stakeholders.

Education / Training

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field preferred.

Qualifications and Experience

• Background in field service operations or project management in a technical environment is highly preferred;
• Experience working with customers and cross-functional teams to drive project execution;
• Familiarity with fleet reliability, modifications and locomotive maintenance processes;
• Strong project management skills, including planning, tracking and execution;
• Excellent communication and customer relationship management abilities;
• Ability to analyze data and drive decision making based on performance insights;

Essential and Physical Activities Functions

• Strength Position requires lifting of 50lbs. Requires stamina and strength to work in tight and confined
spaces while installing or repair machinery and components;
• Motion Position requires standing and/or walking the majority of the day. Frequent walking, squatting,
kneeling, and climbing of steps and stairs;
• Vision/Hearing Requirements Exposed to high levels of noise and vibration from using tools. Position is
exposed to cutting torches and welding operations. The use of proper PPE is required. The Position
requires the ability to read QWI and schematics and understand instructions;
• Work Environment Position can be located inside or outside, dependent on situation. When inside, the
employees are subject to temperature extremes in non-temperature-controlled environments. When
outside employees are subject to all weather elements. Employees will work with oils and other
lubricants;
• Emotional Demands Expected to work and cooperate as part of team to meet production requirements;
• Safety Position is safety sensitive, as it requires working in and around live tracks and operation and
repair of heavy equipment. Position requires strict adherence to safety policies (i.e blue flag) and use of all
PPE.
