Telecommunications Drafter

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Telecommunications Drafter with 2-4 years of experience in wireless/telecom drafting to join our expanding team in the MD market. This role involves designing small cell and macro sites for various carrier clients using AutoCAD 2D, conducting site visits for data collection, and participating in bi-weekly project meetings. You will be responsible for completing projects within budget, on time, and in compliance with ISO requirements, with a significant civil/structural aspect involved.

Responsibilities

  • Design small cell and macro sites using AutoCAD 2D.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs.
  • Attend bi-weekly project meetings to discuss project progress.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with ISO standards.
  • Handle the civil/structural aspects of wireless/telecom drafting.
Essential Skills
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D, with wireless/telecom experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to pass a drug and background check, as well as an MVR.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Design and telecommunication expertise, particularly in wireless construction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in fieldwork such as data collection, measurements, and photography is a plus.
  • Experience in civil, structural, or electrical distribution drafting is advantageous.
Work Environment

The wireless group operates from our Fulton, MD office, consisting of a small team of 5-10 people, including 4 in-house drafters, one Ohio-based drafter, and a dedicated field person who visits occasionally. Candidates must be able to work independently in the field once fully trained. The environment is fast-paced, requiring excellent organizational and multitasking skills. The wireless industry is rapidly growing, offering potential for upward mobility into project management positions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.96 - $26.00/hr.
