About the Job: The Project Manager will manage customer projects once awarded in regard to safety, schedule, profit and customer satisfaction. The Project Manager will work closely with project team to develop and maintain an overall project schedule. Show critical path items and anticipate problematic issues. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety plan is effectively communicated to the Superintendent.
Job Summary:
A Drafter (Level 2) primarily provides support to engineers during the process of creating specialty equipment for the heavy lift and transport industry. Additionally, they may take on some administrative and technical support functions to assist other CAD users.
Job Requirements:
- Experience: 3-10 years of qualifying experience in CAD operation.
- Software Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting. Advanced experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD is required.
- Communication: Strong communication skills for reporting, documenting, and communicating with stakeholders or team members. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with field personnel, engineers, and project managers. Ability to accurately incorporate design revisions and update associated documents for consistency.
- Task Management Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Physical Requirements: Willingness and ability to visit job sites occasionally and work in outdoor and potentially hazardous environments, which may involve standing, walking, crawling, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and lifting moderate weights.
- Fit for Duty: Must pass a drug test, fit for duty and background check.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support Engineers in designing and documenting innovative equipment for heavy lift and transport projects across North America. Typical documentation for Research & Development projects can include:
- Preliminary CAD Models and Concept Drawings
- Finalized CAD Models and Fabrication Drawings
- Support during fabrication
- Load Testing Documentation, including Load Test Procedure Drawings and Load Test Certificates
- Specification Sheets for reference by project engineers and field personnel.
- Various revisions to documents as required.
- Develop working knowledge of existing Barnhart heavy lift and specialty rigging equipment.
- Help with basic mechanical design and structural analysis tasks.
- Possess an understanding of applicable industry and company-specific drawing standards (e.g. ASME) and help to ensure designs are in accordance. Perform preliminary checks on drawings for content and format compliance before final review by an engineer.
- Assist in creating organized Equipment Packages for storing equipment documentation.
- Assist at troubleshooting various design problems and work with engineers to resolve them.
- Develop proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor techniques including: Dynamic Blocks, Multisolid Modeling, and Frame Generator.
- Assist in creating and maintaining templates and other support files for CAD software packages.
- Provide technical assistance and workflow guidance to other CAD users within the company.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Associate's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related CAD-focused degree or certificate program. Minimum GPA of 3.0.
