What will you do?

The Senior/Lead Drafter, Roads is responsible for leading the production of detailed road and highway drawings in compliance with New Zealand design standards. The position involves close collaboration with engineers and remote teams to ensure high-quality, timely, and accurate deliverables.

• Lead the preparation of high-quality road and highway drafting deliverables
• Develop detailed drawings including site layouts, road alignments, cross-sections, profiles, and drainage features in line with New Zealand standards
• Ensure drafting outputs align with project specifications, client expectations, and NZ Transport Agency/Austroads guidelines
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other team members to gather required inputs and resolve design issues
• Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards before submission
• Manage the drafting workflow and documentation process to ensure timely delivery of outputs
• Support BIM and digital engineering initiatives, including model coordination and data integration
• Mentor and guide junior drafters, providing technical oversight and training where needed
• Collaborate closely with New Zealand-based teams and attend virtual project coordination meetings
• Maintain drawing libraries, templates, and standard drafting proceduresole

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need the following:

• 10+ years of experience in roads/highways drafting/modelling
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Experience in using the following software is a plus: Civil 3D, ProjectWise, 12d synergy
• Knowledge of New Zealand drafting standards and practices
• Preferably with experience in major project like state highways
• Experience in stormwater, civil, and Geotech experience is an advantage
• Knowledge in quality assurance is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering designs and specifications
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a remote and multicultural team environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under tight deadlines
