CAD Technician

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will prepare drawings from sketches, general engineering and design information, and verbal instructions using AutoCAD. You will be responsible for ensuring that all drawings are complete and accurate according to established standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings from sketches, general engineering and design information, verbal instructions, and notes using AutoCAD.
• Ensure that computer-generated engineering drawings comply with established standards and procedures.
• Review all work to provide complete and accurate drawings to engineers.
• Operate a plotter to transfer developed drawings to an appropriate medium.
• Convert verbal and written information into computer-generated drawings.
• Review final drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with a wide range of projects and collaborate with multiple project engineers.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders.

Essential Skills

• Knowledge of engineering drawings and principles.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Skill in making minor mathematical calculations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in Civil 3D preferred.
• Knowledge of GIS software is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and meet deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CAD Technician using AutoCAD with an emphasis in civil type drawings.
• High school diploma or technical school training is required.
• Experience with 3D CAD Drafting in Civil or Mechanical disciplines is highly preferred.
• Ability to work in a contract-to-hire role.
• Experience in civil discipline preferred; mechanical process drafting experience is also considered.

Work Environment

The position is based in an office environment with a possible flexible schedule. The company employs about 25 people in an engineering firm setting, offering a family-like atmosphere where collaboration is valued. The company is growing with numerous large projects to work on. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
