Senior Project Engineer, Major Projects Group
The Senior Project Engineer, Major Projects Group is responsible for providing project development, project management, engineering and technical services relating primarily to expansion capital projects at terminals and pipeline facilities.
Bringing Concepts to Reality:
Provides direct support to Company commercial efforts associated with growth projects and other revenue enhancement initiatives
Provides detailed engineering and operations analysis as needed to progress project concepts
Visits terminal and pipeline facilities to review existing conditions, solicits and incorporates input from Terminal Operations Staff
Develops and adjusts project definition, scope, budget and schedule at appropriate intervals to support commercial and regulatory milestones
Conducts front end engineering and design (FEED) activities for projects, collaborating with Company staff and third-party consultant and contractor vendors as appropriate
Identifies and manages critical path schedule activities and advises on milestone funding requirements
Prepares project cost estimates progressing from ROM, Concept, Budget and AFE accuracy levels
Prepares vendor scope of work and contract documents, and coordinates with Purchasing Department from initial vendor invitation through selection
Prepares and presents project definition and status to management and supports customer
Manages, directs, coordinates, and expedites projects at Company facilities
Where appropriate, facilitates transition of project management between FEED/development and execution phases
Maintains timely project cost control and record keeping
Represents client with outside entities and agencies during project execution to ensure continuity throughout the project lifecycle
Creates project schedules, reviews production performance and adjusts as necessary to maintain commitments
Ensures compliance with client safety standards for all project activities
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for all project activities
Performs other duties as required
Position Qualifications:
Working knowledge of petroleum terminal facilities
Understanding of fundamental engineering principles and applications
High technical aptitude, passion for learning and a curiosity-driven spirit
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction
Flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor and attitude with co-workers, customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies
Knowledge of multi-disciplinary construction techniques and project phasing
Working knowledge of the following engineering standards: ASME, NFPA, API, DOT-195, and SPCC
Hydraulic network analysis skills for petroleum piping systems utilizing packaged software and manual calculations
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under time constraints and changing priorities, and can consistently deliver on-time and on-budget projects
Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Power Point and Outlook
AutoCAD proficiency is a plus

Education, Experience, Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Civil, Petroleum, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year university or college is required
Minimum 10 years of petrochemical or heavy industrial experience is required, minimum 5 years of which is specific to the petrochemical terminaling or pipeline industry
Experience with a range of petroleum commodities including refined liquids, LPGs, renewable or alternative fuels, asphalt and chemicals
Project experience and field/construction experience
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus, but not required
Possess and maintain valid driver's license
Able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential Card (TWIC) within the appropriate time frame
Able to fly both domestically and internationally and able to obtain a valid passport
Travel:
Up to 50% travel required. Requires the ability to travel to field locations where environments may vary significantly.
