We are a leading manufacturer of products and services for the Oil & Gas industry, Transit, Railroad, Mining, and general industry in the US and globally.We are looking for a dedicated Gear Design Engineer to join our team and drive excellence in the production of gears and our other products for our customers.This new position will be a gear expert within our Engineering department to support both of our facilities (Johnstown, PA and Blairsville, PA) to:Design, develop, and optimize gear manufacturing processes, including machining, hobbing, grinding, and heat treatInterpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure quality and performance standardsSelect appropriate tools, materials, and machines for gear productionDesign fixtures and special tooling to support manufacturingImplement and support continuous improvement and Lean initiativesCollaborate with design, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing challengesSupport root cause analysis and corrective actions for gear-related and product issuesStay current with industry trends, gear standards (e.g., AGMA, ISO), and emerging technologiesRequirements for successful candidate include:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in high volume gear manufacturingExperience in generated heat treat recipes, metallurgical experience and gear design requiredSolid understanding of gear types (spur, helical, bevel, etc.) and gear cutting methodsFamiliarity with CNC machines, CAD/CAM software, and gear design softwareStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Black belt certification is a plus.Excellent opportunity with a proven and growing company.We offer:Competitive wage and benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurances effective 1st day of employment.
