Build New Hampshire.******************************************************The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Mechanical Services, has a full-time vacancy for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.SUMMARY: To perform journeyman level diagnostic and repair work on fleet equipment to ensure its serviceability.YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal educationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education in automotive mechanics, heavy equipment technology or related field.Experience: Five (5) years of experience as a mechanic in a large commercial or highway garage repairing/servicing heavy equipment including large engines and drive trains. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.OREducation: High school diploma or high school equivalency credential, and completion of apprenticeship training (8,000 hours) in automotive service and repair, heavy equipment technology or related field.Experience: Three (3) years of experience as a mechanic in a large commercial or highway garage repairing/servicing heavy equipment including large engines and drive trains.License/Certification: Must possess a valid driver's license.
