Location: Colorado Springs, CO 80905Compensation Range: Compensationrange: $27.00 - $34.00 per hour. This position is considered non-exemptunder FLSA. This is an estimated pay range. Final pay rate will be determinedbased on internal equity, internal salary ranges, job related skills,experience, qualifications, and market conditions.We are looking formid-level Transportation Construction Inspector to join our growing team basedout of Colorado Springs. You will work directly with our construction managersand project engineers to observe and inspect transportation constructionprojects.About the position...as a Construction Inspector, you should beable to perform the following basics:Developing and maintaining effective and efficient documentation throughoutthe project in a timely manner including but not limited to writing dailyreports (including photos) and summarizing construction activity and otherimportant information for the dayInspecting, monitoring, and evaluating construction work to ensurecompliance with all codes, ordinances, regulations, standards, andcontract/project specifications by reviewing, interpreting, andevaluating plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, andconstruction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements, projectrequirements, and safety regulations, and comparing them with constructionin pEvaluating construction materials (such as concrete, aggregates,pavements, and soils) and measuring dimensions and elevations againstblueprints and schematics, etc.Observing and evaluating construction activities for general conformance tocontract documentsUsing standard inspection tools including measuring tape, smart level,measuring wheel, soils probe, mobile devices, metering devices, andother test equipment to perform inspectionsPresenting feedback on findings and working collaboratively with others toresolve issuesWearing proper personal protection equipment (PPE)Reporting any unsafe conditions to your supervisor or member of managementContinuously identifying, anticipating, and preventing safety, health,and hazard concerns by surveying environmental, operational, andoccupational conditions while on construction siteRequirementsIf you are the ideal candidate, you will have the following experience:A minimum of 2 years transportation construction inspection experienceRelevant inspection certificates (e.g., erosion control, OSHA 10-hrConstruction Safety, OSHA confined space entry, CDOT Basics,Transportation Erosion Control Supervisor, Work Zone Traffic Control).Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, cloud-based file servers, and GISasset management softwareExcellent written and oral communication skills including technical writingMature interpersonal skills and problem solving abilityExcellent organizational skillsSelf-motivated to meet individual goals and maintain accountability in a teamenvironmentValid drivers license and acceptable driving recordAble to complete tasks while working remotely from equipped vehicle or projectfield officeAbout Us:Basis Partners is a Colorado-based, people, team, and locally focusedcivil engineering consulting firm providing services to public agencies in thetransportation industry.We are a consulting firm that is a sharp contrast to our competitors.
