What you’ll do as a GIS Drafter Designer
- Create, modify and review technical drawings, GIS/CAD maps and plans based upon customer requirements
- Create and provide revised GIS/CAD drawings and maps based on feedback and markup. Maintain drawing and map files and documentation
- Plans, designs, prepares GIS/CAD maps and drawings and obtains permits, pole attachment and/or pole loading agreements (PTAs) for new or existing underground and aerial cable routes
- Reviews field notes to provide engineering overlay and appropriate engineering and construction notes
- Engages daily with the company design team, GIS team, as well as in-house project management staff to ensure customer congruency and construction efficiency
- Maintains safe working habits and conditions per company policy
- Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
- High School Diploma or GED; related 2-year degree preferred
- Working knowledge of the telecommunications industry standards, practices and regulations pertaining to the
engineering of fiber optic outside plant facilities - Working knowledge of GIS data (parcel, state, county, city boundaries, easements, right of way)
- Ability to read and understand GIS maps and CAD drawings
- Knowledge of aerial and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro/AutoCAD/Microstation or similar GIS or CAD drafting software
- Remote or Office Position

Salary Range $20 - $22 Hr
