Job Description

Donley Farms , located in Shoshone, ID, is a multi-generational family farm. Our diverse operation includes crop, hay, dairy, beef and custom farming. Our equally diverse team of permanent full-time, part-time and seasonal employees support our mission of sustainable agriculture systems. We are seeking a mechanic to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in servicing agricultural equipment and will be responsible for a variety of mechanical tasks. This position requires hands-on experience with equipment maintenance and repair, ideally in the agricultural sector. Mechanic will be expected to perform inspections, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs on various types of machinery, including tractors, harvest equipment, skidsteers, pickups and harvest trucks. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing equipment, which includes everything from headlights to engines to brakes and tires. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential for success in this role. The Mechanic will work closely with other team members and may be required to assist in training new staff. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Permanent, Full-time employee
  • Knowledge of diesel and gas equipment from modern tractors to ATVs and motorcycles
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment, vehicles and machinery with little to no supervision
  • Willingness to learn more and take on challenges with guidance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and conduct inspections.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operations.
  • Perform repair of power equipment in the field, including tires, alternators, hydraulics, and brake systems
  • Conduct in-shop repair of power units and other equipment as needed

Qualifications

  • Well-rounded knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of diesel and automotive maintenance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Valid drivers license
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, but not required
  • Provide own tools (shop tools and specialized tools available)
  • Welding experience also a plus
