Job Description

Lead and manage a survey crew, ensuring accurate and timely completion of surveying tasks for infrastructure projects. Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations and data collectors, to conduct and oversee surveying activities for large projects such as roadways, utilities, and land development. Implement high-definition scanning techniques and collaborate with project managers and engineers to provide precise measurements and data. Train and mentor junior crew members, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a survey crew for infrastructure projects.
  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations and data collectors.
  • Conduct and oversee surveying activities for roadway, utilities, and land development.
  • Implement high-definition scanning techniques as required.
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineers to provide precise measurements and data.
  • Train and mentor junior crew members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of survey reports and documentation.
Essential Skills
  • Background in infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, including education.
  • Familiarity with survey equipment, including total stations and data collectors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with tunnels, railroads, airports, and infrastructure projects.
  • Survey license and degree preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in operating surveying equipment.
  • Familiarity with high-definition scanning techniques preferred.
  • Knowledge of boundary survey software and Alta surveys.
Work Environment

Positions are based in Edison, NJ, with office attendance required 1 to 2 days a week. Travel is necessary, including to South Jersey, with compensation for mileage and tolls. The Crew Chief receives a company vehicle and equipment, primarily utilizing LICA equipment. Expect a 40-hour workweek, with occasional night work for railroad projects due to safety considerations. A laptop and company car are provided. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
