ThisBuilding Safety Program Supervisorposition is a great opportunity for a professional whos looking to provide consumer protection and public safety for all Idahoans.
Job Summary:To supervise a statewide construction component/building safety program or supervise regional staff in an assigned area of the state; perform related work.
Example of Duties:
+ Responsible for planning, developing and supervising the implementation of program goals, policies, procedures, and objectives in their area of expertise.
+ Compile and analyze data and information to identify service needs, available resources, determine compliance with regulations, and evaluate program effectiveness.
+ Supervise and manage staff necessary to meet program requirements; assigns, directs, and evaluates the work of staff assigned to a regional program area.
+ Provides technical expertise to building officials, building representatives, contractors, the public and staff for areas such as compliance with licensing and permitting.
+ Interpretation of building codes, difficult inspection problems, code enforcement assistance and safety operations, processes, and procedures.
+ Assess needs and provide training, and may make presentations to program staff, the public, professional and special interest groups.
+ Research innovations in industry technologies and assess compatibility with prevailing codes, business practices, and educational and training needs.
+ May advise legal staff concerning program operations and requirements, testify in court or administrative hearings, prepare reports of violations of law and code, and assist in prosecution of persistent violators.
