Job Overview This position reports to the Quality Control Manager to ensure compliance of the Construction Quality Assurance Plan as it is administered in the execution of construction projects. This position is responsible for assisting with project planning, procurement, and project submittals in support of Chugach construction projects. The Project Engineer Tech will be expected to provide technical support on site and assist with administrating oversight of the Quality Control and Project Management applications, ensuring the accuracy for project related information and distributing information timely and professionally. Salary Range: $120- $140k Work Model: Onsite/In-Office Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Participates in Preconstruction Conferences. Notifies user and all base agencies to attend conference and briefs on contract plans/specifications and special requirements; provides technical responses to construction related activities as assigned. Reviews and recommends approval of contractor progress schedules. Ensures that scheduling is accurate, reasonable, in proper format, correctly sequenced. Prepares and reviews contract submittals and shop drawings. Ensures submittals comply with contract specifications. Works with QCM and CMs to prepare weekly progress reports. Record actual percentage of work complete, and accepted, essential for progress payments. Attend and assist in negotiations of modifications and/or Delivery Orders. Completes contract close out of completed construction contracts. Frequent travel to field locations. Work within Quality Control and construction management applications utilizing best practices to create, distribute, input, monitor and review construction documentation and correspondence proficiently and able to designate authorities as necessary with the applications listed above. Review and analyze product information to determine compliance with specifications, drawings, and vendor white papers. Deploy, monitor, and control project files and information to create a program library for current and future projects. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: Two (2) years of college course work in Quality Control or Engineering related discipline. Strong ability to track multiple projects and ensure document submissions to various USG contacts. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical construction documents and procedures, and governmental regulations. Excellent communications skills and professionally present information to groups. Candidate must be able to perform at a high tempo to meet critical customer deadlines while ensuring compliance to contractual guidelines. Must have a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record. Frequent travel to field locations. Able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance. Must be able to successfully pass a pre hire background and drug test. Preferred: Five (5) years of experience in construction management, construction planning or similar roles Previous experience in NavFac, ACOE and other federal agencies Engineering background is strongly preferred. Construction operations experience is strongly preferred. Experience in remote location work.
