Welding Supervisor Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Welding Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead, organize, and direct the daily activities of the Weld Department. You will be working alongside another supervisor to manage a growing team of welders. Responsibilities Ensure accuracy with all first part checks. Train new employees on fitting, welding, and blueprint reading. Mentor direct reports, identify areas for improvement, and provide necessary training. Conduct performance reviews, log journal entries, and hold one-on-one meetings with direct reports. Ensure daily balancing is completed at the start of each shift for the previous day. Essential Skills Proficiency in MIG welding with a minimum of 5 years of experience. At least 2 years of experience in a welding leadership role. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols. Strong communication skills. Quality control proficiency. Experience in fitting, flux core, fabrication, and welding. Ability to lift 50 lbs and measure parts in all dimensions and angles. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with TIG welding. Knowledge of working with stainless steel, aluminum, and structural materials. Familiarity with isometric drawings, including 2D and 3D renderings using Solidworks. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a large job shop with over 90 employees spread across four buildings on the same campus. The role is for the 2nd shift, working from 2pm to 1am, Monday to Thursday, with potential additional hours on Fridays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leavenworth, Kansas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
