Design Engineer - Transportation

The majority of your time will bespent assisting project managers and project engineers in design andconstruction phase activities on Transportation projects. This position isopen immediately to qualified EIT individuals and December 2024 or May 2025graduates.What You Will Be Doing:Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities ontransportation projectsPerform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, researchand prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studiesAssist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantitytake-off estimatesAssists with traffic corridor studies related to traffic operations, trafficsafety, modal integration and access management.Assist with design of traffic control devices including traffic signals,signing and pavement markings, roadway lighting, IntelligentTransportation Systems (ITS), work zones, and detours. Work may beapplied to existing infrastructure of part of larger transportationimprovement plans and specifications.Construction observation activities may include performing constructionstaking, performing construction administration duties such as documentingactivities, measuring and testing, providing general oversight, andinteracting with contractors, sub-contractors, residents and City staff.What We Are Looking For:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited collegeCertified Engineer-in-Training or able to obtain within 12 months of hirePrior experience in either infrastructure design and/or constructionobservationWorking knowledge and skills in CAD and design software.(i.e. AutoCADCivil3D, MicroStation)Developing knowledge of specialized traffic software. (i.e., SYNCHRO,SIMTraffic, Arcady, VISSIM, etc.) preferredRequires frequent travel during construction seasonPossess a valid drivers license as travel to various facilities and job sitesmay be requiredSalary Range: $62,000 - $85,000 depending on years of experience andcredentialsBolton & Menk is providing the compensation range that the company in goodfaith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on thesuccessful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills,abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.Bolton & Menk reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than theposted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, dependingon circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protectedby local, state, and/or federal law.Anticipated Last Date to Apply: 5/31/2025Supporting Our EmployeesThere's life at work and life outside of work.
