Kenosha County is an Equal Opportunity Employer. 2025 HiringRange: \$58,657 - \$69,263 The Kenosha County Park Foreman assists thePark Superintendent in performing supervisory duties by organizing,directing, and leading the work of a crew of park maintenance workers.Work Schedule This is a full-time, year-round, salaried position. Hoursare first shift, generally Monday through Friday. Typical hours will be6:00 AM 2:30 PM. Rotating weekends and ability to work holidays.Position Summary and Job Duties Establish work schedule and maintaintime and attendance records for crew. Lead crew on projects andmaintenance operations which include turf maintenance, weed prevention,grounds equipment, equipment evaluations, parts ordering, etc. Operatespecialized equipment including pickups, dump trucks, tractors, skidsteers, chippers, mowers, and loaders. Assist in planning the building,equipment, and grounds repairs. Participate in planning a preventativemaintenance schedule. Order parts seasonally as well as requiredmaintenance due to equipment failure or damage. Answer questions forpark visitors so their experience at the park is a positive one. Trainnew employees and make sure they understand the safety procedures.Coordinate work efforts with groups, volunteers, recreational programs,and court referral programs. Attend trainings and workshops. Reportunsafe conditions to Superintendent and work to eliminate them. Assistin making sure park events go smoothly and safely. Other duties may beassigned. Success Factors Skill in irrigation. Skill in equipmentoperation, maintenance and repairs. Skill in using computers, includingemail, spreadsheets, Word, and budget tracking. Skill in customerservice, public relations, and communication. Ability to train anddemonstrate what is to be done and expected of staff. Ability to displaypatience and listen to employee\'s concerns. Ability to effectively workwith multiple types of personalities and age groups. Ability to workweekends, nights, and holidays as required, as well as be on call 24/7.Ability to remain professional and courteous at all times. Knowledge ofparks maintenance, grounds, athletic fields, forestry, and mechanicalequipment. Knowledge of safety requirements for projects and coderequirements. Job Requirements, Education, Training and Experience Mustbe at least 18 years of age at time of application. High School Diplomaor GED equivalent is required. 5 years of experience in groundsmaintenance/ facilitating in a park environment. Licenses orCertifications Valid Class D driver\'s license with good driving record.Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL) Class A obtained within six months ofemployment, with no air brake restrictions. Commercial PesticideApplicator: Turf and Landscape 3.0 certification obtained within sixmonths of employment. Preferred Qualifications Associate\'s degree in arelated field. 10 years of experience in groundsmaintenance/facilitating in a park environment. Or any combination ofeducation, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills,and abilities necessary to perform the job.
