Project Estimator

Aegis Worldwide is seeking a skilled Steel Detailer / Project Manager / Estimator to support a growing team in delivering high-quality steel fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in reading and interpreting design drawings, developing detailed fabrication plans, and managing multiple projects from estimation through completion. Key Responsibilities: Steel Detailing & Project Management: Interpret and analyze client design drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance. Create and modify shop drawings for structural steel components such as storage tanks, stacks, and ductwork. Develop detailed assembly drawings, identifying the positioning of steel members. Utilize 3D modeling software (Autodesk Inventor) for job planning and sequencing. Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and coordinate procurement and material deliveries. Oversee fabrication processes, including cutting, welding, bolting, surface prep, and rubber lining. Manage shipping schedules and coordinate logistics. Maintain effective communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors throughout project lifecycle. Proactively identify and resolve design or construction issues to prevent delays and cost overruns. Estimating: Interpret technical drawings to estimate material, labor, and equipment requirements. Prepare and manage multiple project estimates to meet submission deadlines. Assess potential risks and incorporate them into cost estimates. Generate detailed quotations based on client specifications and company standards. Collaborate on schedule planning and contribute to project kickoff strategies. Required Skills and Competencies: Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills. Proficiency in CAD software, especially Autodesk Inventor. Solid organizational and project management capabilities. Excellent attention to detail and adherence to industry safety standards. Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in fabrication and erection processes. Clear and professional communication skills for team and client coordination. Estimating expertise in steel fabrication and construction environments. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience in steel detailing, fabrication, or welding (preferred). High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus. Valid driver's license required. Knowledge of welding and steel fabrication techniques strongly preferred. Experience in construction project estimation highly desirable.
