Welder & Fabricator - Repair Job Description Join a dynamic rail and tank car repair facility as a welder/fabricator. You will spend 20% of your time welding using MIG/Flux methods and 80% fabricating and assembling. This role involves reading blueprints, cutting steel with an Oxy-Torch, fitting up, and tack welding. You should be capable of welding overhead and have an interest in becoming officially certified for railcar repair. Responsibilities Weld using MIG/Flux methods 20% of the time. Fabricate and assemble components 80% of the time. Read and interpret blueprints accurately. Cut steel with an Oxy-Torch. Fit up and tack weld components. Perform overhead welding. Essential Skills Proven welding experience with MIG and Flux methods. Structural welding experience. Ability to weld overhead. Proficiency in reading blueprints. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in railcar repair. Fabrication and production experience. Ability to interpret drawings. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a shift from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hockley, Texas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
