Finish Carpenter

Highly Skilled Carpenter interested in a future profit sharing position needed for our high end residential, home building and remodeling company. Must have a keen eye for detail and precision, proficient math skills, physical dexterity, and problem solving skills. Must have an expansive knowledge of construction and be able to perform a some general construction tasks in addition to high end finish carpentry.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Cut and shape wooden components using saws, planers, sanders, and routers for the assembly and/or installation of trim, cabinets, built ins, and millwork, and doors. Some light framing (doors / showers).
Be capable of analysis, problem solving, leveling, and/or scribing to allow for proper fitting on uneven surfaces
Take measurements and prepare a cost estimate of materials and labor required for a trimming/finishing project in addition to overseeing the selection and purchase of raw materials needed for construction to ensure the use of appropriate wood type
Guide and supervise the work of more novice carpenters and/or interns to ensure they are in line with set standards
Install door hardware, hinges, handles, cabinet hardware, bath accessories, onto finished structures.
Conduct demo and install protective materials
Organize and maintain company tools and equipment, track and purchase supplies
ALSO
Open and close projects on a daily basis
Accept deliveries and install protective measures as necessary thoughout the project.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Ensure the project site is inspection ready
Help prepare and execute punch lists
Monitor the work of subcontractors, carpenters and laborers.
Provide a detailed daily site report.
Interact well with clients
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Review plans in order to identify mistakes and inconsistencies and makes recommendations on how to resolve such issues.
Verify key dimensions and layouts to ensure work performed is in compliance with plans and applicable codes.
Maintain documentation and paperwork and keep it organized within the filing system set forth by Company policies and practices.
Participate in Company-provided training such as safety, non-discrimination, and harassment prevention
EDUCATION / SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Able to read blueprints
Knowledge of building codes, health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Ability to use a personal computer and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Ability to communicate well in English both written and verbally.
Knowledge of Builder Trend a plus or must be willing to learn.
