Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. has an immediate need for an industrial senior technician to support the various mechanical and Industrial Wastewater services in our Plainville, Connecticut Office. This position will support a diverse mix of projects and provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in several of our service areas and operating divisions.

The primary role of the senior technician will be to support and conduct field installations involving industrial projects and systems, and with a focus on plumbing installs and operations/maintenance (O&M) activities. The senior technician will be tasked with plumbing installations and various O&M tasks in industrial manufacturing settings; by conducting the work themselves or as part of a crew of up to 4 technicians completing the tasks with them. A typical job may include installing plastic, copper, or steel pipe/tubing; or installation, disassembly, inspection, cleaning and/or reassembly of industrial pumps or mixers

This position will require hands on work with field installations for complex systems and components. Manual dexterity, good technical skills, hands on ability, project understanding, and mechanical aptitude are of the upmost importance for success in this role and will be required to fill this position. The ability to read instructions represented in work plans, manuals, drawings, schematics etc. is necessary for this position. With the diverse projects and environments, training and good safety practices will be of the upmost importance while performing all field activities, and adherence to company and client regulation is a mandatory part of the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execution, with both technical accuracy and on-time delivery, and delegation of assigned tasks and work plans
  • Installation of piping in industrial and manufacturing settings
  • Drilling and/or coring for pipe supports and penetrations
  • Perform troubleshooting of remediation systems.
  • Perform equipment installations, maintenance, and preventive maintenance as required on capital assets and production equipment.
  • Read and comprehend work instructions, diagrams, and schematics
  • Work from drawings and schematics/diagrams. Use precision measuring instruments and equipment to check machines or mechanical equipment for accuracy and reliability.
  • Refer difficulties to Superintendent or Project Manager
  • Compliance with internal and client specific safety standards
  • The following trainings are preferred: Lockout Tagout, OSHA 10, OSHA 30, plumbing licensure
Required Skills and Abilities
  • HS diploma, Technical School or equivalent
  • Basic acumen with hand tools and troubleshooting tooling.
  • Fundamental skills with using powered tools (cordless tools, bandsaw, etc.) for:
    • Cutting of metal, plastic, and fiberglass materials
    • Drilling/tapping straight holes
    • Making straight cuts
    • Concrete hammer drilling
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment. Knowledge in organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.
  • Ability to work from drawings and schematic diagrams, read technical prints of some complexity, and use basic mathematics.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, mechanically inclined, and intellectually curious
Nice-to-have
  • Knowledge of repair and troubleshooting methods as applied to remediation systems such as: groundwater/wastewater treatment and soil vapor extraction systems.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and equipment to check machines and equipment for accuracy and condition.
  • Proficiency in welding techniques.
