Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Superintendent to oversee construction projects, ensuring financial success, safety adherence, and quality execution. This role requires a proactive leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and values teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure financial success of the project by maintaining the budget and/or reducing costs.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols by conducting inspections and orientations, identifying and addressing hazards, and communicating safety plans.
  • Attend meetings associated with assigned projects, including both client and internal meetings.
  • Act as the ultimate decision maker for job sites.
  • Collaborate effectively with all building partners, including the owner, architect, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Oversee and finalize the punch list and review closeout documents.
  • Lead on-site work execution, ensuring adherence to quality standards and contract documents, while maintaining the project schedule.
  • Foster growth and development within the project team.
  • Secure all necessary approvals, permits, and inspections from governmental agencies and utility companies.
  • Complete all daily, weekly, and monthly logs and reports.
  • Represent the company in interactions with union labor, site visitors, and the entire building team.
  • Facilitate in-person training sessions on building systems, recording the sessions on video.
  • Operate drones to obtain video data on the project site for weekly reports.
  • Collect information methodically, navigate complex issues, identify root causes, make timely decisions, and communicate outcomes effectively.
  • Demonstrate leadership by fostering consensus, inspiring, coaching, and uplifting others.
  • Strategically plan and utilize resources efficiently, minimize waste, and identify opportunities to enhance profitability.
  • Set clear goals and consistently achieve them, hold the team accountable, and implement effective systems and processes to measure and track outcomes.
  • Maintain consistency, align goals with the company's strategy, uphold a positive attitude, respect oneself and others, overcome obstacles with integrity, and stay motivated to achieve success.

Essential Skills

  • 7+ years of experience as a superintendent supporting ground-up, industrial, and/or data center work.
  • Experience with precast and tilt-wall construction.
  • Procore & Bluebeam proficiency.
  • Experience creating look-ahead schedules.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • CPR/AED/BBP and First Aid Training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • FAA Certification for Drone operation (will be provided if not already held).
  • Proficiency in MS Project is a plus, training available.

Work Environment

The role involves travel, primarily within the Dallas and Chicagoland areas. Candidates should be open to travel anywhere in the U.S. The position is salary exempt, with a three-week rotation home during travel times. The office headquarters are in Oak Brook, IL, recently renovated, where initial training and orientation will occur. No car allowance is provided, but travel expenses and mileage reimbursement for mobilization are covered.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $69.71/hr.
