Project Manager

Job Description

Actalent's client is looking for a Project Manager to manage some small T&D projects in both BC, AB, SK and the Yukon. The ideal candidate will have 5 years exp. working as a PM with exposure to construction projects. The candidate will have past exp. in managing budget and contracts used to perform work. This candidate will need to have some sort of exposure to the transmission and distribution industries or as a Project Manager who has worked with a General Contractor on Industrial projects. Projects will go as large as 500kv but most are smaller in KV, and are tie ins to renewable sites.

This position will usually have 1 major project that they are running along side several small projects, up to 10. The large projects can be up to 10mm and the smaller projects around 50-350k in spend. The typical projects could include switching out components off existing lines, stringing lines, new foundations,

Job Requirements:

• 5 years exp. as a PM (minimum) from a General Contracting company on either T&D projects or industrial projects.
• Construction exp from a PM stand point
• 2-4 medium size jobs (longest project is going to be 4-5 months)
• Substation/Generation related project experience
• Transmission exp - pilings (civil component)
• Utilities exp. is a must have (if no powerlines then someone with an electrical background , or linear projects)
• Experience doing design review
• Experience doing oversight of budget and schedule (some P6 know how)
• Technologist or engineers
• Experience using Excel
• Technical exp. or field work exp.
• Abbotsford

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
