Job Summary:
BCM is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Carpenter / Framer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry and framing work on ultra-high-end residential projects, ensuring precision, structural integrity, and adherence to design specifications. The role requires a thorough understanding of construction phases and a commitment to delivering superior craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform precise framing work, including walls, floors, roofs, and other structural components, in accordance with blueprints and building codes.
Execute high-quality finish carpentry tasks, such as trim installation, cabinet fitting, door and window installation, and custom millwork.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately to determine dimensions and materials required.
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, drywall, and other materials.
Ensure all work meets BCM's exacting quality standards and applicable building codes.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Collaborate effectively with the project superintendent, other trades, and team members.
Identify and resolve carpentry-related issues on-site.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Finish Carpenter or Framer in residential construction, with experience in high-end projects preferred.
Thorough understanding of all phases of the construction process, from foundation to finish.
Proficiency in various carpentry techniques, tools, and equipment.
Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
Ability to accurately read and interpret complex building plans and specifications.
Possession of a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Willingness to embrace and learn new construction methodologies and techniques.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable transportation is mandatory, with the ability to commute daily to job sites in Malibu and the greater Los Angeles area.
Availability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
