Sheet Metal Mechanic - HVAC Duct Installation | Austin, TX

Location: Austin, Texas

Job Type: Full-Time / Project-Based

Compensation: Based on Experience

Job Overview:

CCS Construction Staffing is now hiring high-level Sheet Metal Mechanics for commercial HVAC projects in Austin, TX. We're looking for skilled installers capable of independent ductwork installation, blueprint reading, and sheet metal fabrication. OSHA-10 is preferred but not required. Mechanics must be able to perform at a high level with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Ductwork Installation: Measure, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal duct systems per blueprints or project specifications
Blueprint Reading: Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and construction plans accurately
Fabrication: Use tools such as plasma cutters, brakes, and shears to cut and shape metal components
Sealing & Insulating: Apply appropriate sealants and insulation for airtight, energy-efficient HVAC systems

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic
Skilled in layout, cutting, hanging ductwork, and using fabrication tools
Must bring your own tools and wear full PPE (hard hat, gloves, vest, safety glasses, boots)
OSHA 10 preferred
Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
