We are currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer in our growing building services team for our New York office. This role will seeyou technically and creatively challenged on some of the most interesting developments in the US and further afield. Teamwork and a collaborative approach are key to any project at Buro Happold, so your strong communication skills and passion to succeed with others will serve you well. What will I be doing? Input to the projects is likely to bevariedbut will include the requirement to: Preparation of detailed engineering designs, drawings, documents and specifications Undertake detailed engineering design for gravity and lateral systems of building structures Create 3D structural analysis models using commercial software, including RAM, SAP, ETABS, SAFE, etc Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions Under guidance of senior staff, attend and participate in meetings with the client and other design team members. Collaborate and coordinate with team members from both their own discipline and others Plan and help manage and input into BIM models of design work, by working closely with Buro Happold Technicians Represent Buro Happold at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers. Ensure that appropriate service/design decisions are met, consulting with internal and external mentors and stakeholders where appropriate. What can I bring to the role? As an experienced Structural Engineer,it is expected that you will be able to demonstrate: Typically, 2-4 years' experience in structural building engineering experience Thorough knowledge and understanding of US Building and Material Codes Broad structural design knowledge, from working on a range of projects Experience with wide range of material, including the design of steel framing and concrete building structures Ability to multi-task, effectively manage time, and maintain ongoing project focus Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way Proactive ability to take the initiative, learn, and be creative in a team environment. MS or PhD degree with concentration in structural engineering Good experience with BIM tools such as REVIT Good experience with CSI Programs like ETABS and SAPExperience of using computation design methods, using Rhino, Grasshopper a plus What we offer:Salary range of $82,000 to $87,000.
