Your Opportunity

Our Lexington, KY Transportation Structural Engineering team is looking for an Intern. Our local structural team consists of about 27 engineers, inspectors and CAD technicians

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers in the preparation of structural construction plans and reports for various transportation and infrastructure projects, including bridges, drainage structures and others.

  • Responsibilities include computer aided design and drafting, checking drawings and calculations, quantity take-offs, simple structural calculations, and field inspection.

  • Office environment working with computer at a desk. Some allowance for working remotely from home. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Minimum requirements include:

  • Good academic standing in an accredited engineering school.

  • Must have good organizational skills, be reliable, detail oriented, and capable of taking initiative.

  • Good communication skills required.

Education and Experience

  • Candidate must be at least, or entering, junior year in undergrad. Goal to earn master's degree in civil/Structural Engineering is preferred.

  • Computer skills preferred: AutoCAD/Microstation, Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook/Teams, Mathcad, Acrobat/Bluebeam PDF
