Job Description
Are you an experienced electrician looking for a new opportunity?
Our Electrician II serves within the Facilities Department. Incumbent plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Tests electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems. inspects electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Updating and making replacements to existing mechanical systems as needed to accommodate the workspaces
- Complete submitted work request tickets in a timely manner
- Provide support to construction and trades team members during building maintenance and repair projects throughout the state
- Meet and work with subcontractors to complete projects within project deadlines

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Education and Experience
A high school diploma and experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems. Must have considerable knowledge of the standard practices and methods of the electrical trade. Skill in the use and care of the tools and equipment of the electrical trade. Ability to locate and correct defects in electrical systems and equipment. Ability to read and work from blueprints and sketches. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to train apprentices in the electrical trade.
Preferred Qualifications
Performs expert level electrical work. Ability to perform highly skilled work in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
